Best In The Business | Charlotte Tilbury

When it comes to all things rose gold, outstanding quality, & beautiful designs, There is one lady who has changed the face of the beauty game & has become well established in the industry & that is of course the gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury. With stunning products cased inside even more breathtaking packaging a girl can't help herself & purchase a few things, Charlotte has worked in the industry for over 20 years now, & has huge knowledge of beauty, So on a midnight spending spree last week I purchased a few things from her ever growing range.

I decided to buy a little bit of everything from each section & focus on three of my favourite things, eyes, face & lips. I love Charlotte's passion for everything that she creates and what she wants her products to do, feel, achieve....that & be the best that they can and make sure that the consumer feels a million dollars, because let's face it everybody wants some TLC am I right? SO.....I bought The Gift Of Red Carpet Skin as I have already tried Charlotte's famous Magic Cream (review coming soon) & wanted to try out some of her other skincare products, the set itself includes the Goddess Skin Clay Mask, Wonder Glow, Multi-Miracle Glow & much much more! I then went and hit that add to basket button again, and added the Mini Miracle Eye Wand, this is seriously amazing it's designed to lift & illuminate your eyes, and boy it really makes a huge difference I have dark circles under my eyes and this beauty really has helped them just within a week. The final item I picked up was this gorgeous lippy in 'Nude Kate' This was made especially for Charlotte's famous friend Kate Moss (LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS).

Charlotte has created so many goddess worthy products and pored her passion, heart & knowledge into everything she's created that to me, just shows how much she cares about what she creates and that she wants her products to be the best that they can, I have to say I adore the lipstick as I'm a HUGE lover of a good lippy and it's just the perfect nude, the formula is very moisturising, creamy and just gorgeous which you would expect anything less than amazing from the queen of beauty. They are high-end lipsticks at £23 a pop but are completely worth it. That & who doesn't love a bit of rose gold?

Charlotte Tilbury really is the best in the business when it comes to the beauty industry.

I hope you enjoyed my mini & rather expensive haul.

Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury products?

My Current Skincare Routine

My skin routine is something that I actually love, I love finding new products & having a love affair with some real classics that I forgot I even had. So I thought I'd share with you my current skincare routine. I like to use a mixture of both highstreet/drugstore & highend as we have some real hidden gems inside the highstreet & drugstore market.....and as for the highend market, it's nice seeing if it actually works and keeps to it's promises as well as seeing if is really worth the price tag that comes with it. Skincare (and makeup ;) ) is something I have a real passion for, It's something for everyone to love & enjoy using. Whether you just have 5 minutes or 30 it's always there and everybody needs 'me time' and skincare is such a HUGE part of my life not just in my job but also for me personally. I love knowing that my skin feels a lot better, healthier, brighter and well a whole lot more 'me' (if that makes sense). So here is my current skincare routine.

My Routine

Starting from the I use Estee Lauder's Take-It-Away Makeup Remover, Liz Earle Cleanse Polish in Limited Edition Rose & Cedrat, Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser, Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment & my Nuxe Lip Balm.

Remove & Cleanse

I firstly remove all my makeup with my Estee Lauder Take-It-Away Lotion & it's honestly UH-MA-ZING and really strips the days face away gently without leaving it feeling dry and gets even the toughest of makeup off including water proof.....It's one makeup remove that I completely adore and that I'm forever repurchasing, it's a waterbased formula but glides on like a gel-meets-lotion it's an absolute dream & breaks down each makeup layer. it's honestly fantastic and is worth every single penny. I also love how it doesn't leave an oily residue.

Once I've used my trusty Estee makeup remover, I now cleanse my skin using the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, raved by many include myself, I've used this for years & it's honestly such a good cleanser, it's light & creamy formula leaves your skin having an almost velvety finish it's just amazing, gives a thorough cleanse, smells divine, I have a limited edition one I'm using at the moment and I just can't get enough of this one, as well as the classic scent. It's enriched with cocoa butter & leaves a super soft & like I said earlier velvety feel to the skin. I use my Liz Earle cleanser in the spring/summer then switch to Emma Hardie in the autumn/winter.

I have never loved a moisturiser as much as this one, Clinique have really got it spot on when it comes to skincare they really know what works & what doesn't. I've raved about this since the start of this year and have been buying pot after pot since as it's that good, It's very hydrating and feels like the nicest thing ever to bless my skin, & has worked miracles on my dry patches. My skin tends to feel quite dehydrated with a little bit of oiliness & this has really popped it back into place & made it look much brighter, healthier and has really made a massive difference.

Eye Time

I bought this just about a month ago now and OMG it's fantastic it's really helped brighten my eyes and has helped with my dark circles, my eyes felt really dry & horrible after using a particular eye cream and this has completely transformed them, it's a really rich and creamy texture and just feels so luxurious and cooling to my eyes, I just love it.

I bought this about two weeks ago, & have been using it ever since, it's a new obsession of mine. It's quite a thick lip balm, yet has an almost buttery texture it feels so luxurious and rich yet creamy. I apply this both at night and when I wake up it's STILL's honestly amazing and has changed my lips completely, they always looked & felt dry before using this particular lip balm & now they don't, It's also great to use before applying lipstick & has really stopped my lips from look scaly and less reptile like ;). You can feel it really sinking into your lips and feel it working wonders, I've got a feeling it will most definitely be making an appearance in my May Favourites.

And that my fellow blogger chums is everything I'm currently using skincare-wise, I'd love to know what products you use in your skincare, I'd also like to find some new hidden gems that I'm missing out on so do leave me some recommendations in the comments.

What is your current skincare routine?

HOW TO: Clean Makeup Brushes

One of my favourite things is actually cleaning my makeup brushes, I know it's a chore for most people but I actually do enjoy it, there is nothing nicer than knowing, that you're not spreading bacteria around your face, that and they smell squeaky clean. For some people it's a mundane task but honestly it's completely worth it, if you don't clean your brushes on a regular basis then you are just going to keep adding bacteria straight back on to your face from your brush, and if you don't clean your brushes the bacteria festers in them & then you will most probably get's a vicious circle that my simple tutorial can help you with. I'm forever cleaning my brushes & other peoples *coughs* my mums *coughs*. I know some people who have used the same brush for months, years even and not cleaned it once. So here are my simple tips to getting your makeup brushes looking squeaky clean and germ/makeup free.

♥ Makeup can often get clogged up in your brushes so find a good quality product that will give your brushes a thorough cleanse, I love the smell of this simple Dove hand soap at the moment and it works a treat, gives a deep clean to my brushes yet leaves them super soft after.....smells divine too.......I also like the fact that it has antiseptic powers and will cleanse away any dirt & germs. I normally use a good deep cleansing shampoo but I'm really enjoying this Dove soap at the moment. Simply pump your cleansing product on the tips of the brush and start to swirl in the palm of your hand.

♥ Now you are going to want to squeeze out the rather foundation coloured foam from the base of the brush to the tips then rinse under running water to make sure everything is completely gone and cleansed away. You can repeat this as many times as you like or until you think your brush is clean.

♥ And voilĂ  there you have it one clean brush. To dry them place them somewhere were they will dry naturally.

It's super quick & gives a deep cleanse, I tend to wash my brushes once a week I wash them every sunday actually. My go-to brush has to be the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, this is a good all-round brush because you can use it for foundation (which is what I do) concealer, blush it's just the perfect all in one brush that every girl needs in her life. I will admit that after about the 20th brush it does get a tad tedious and a pain in the backside but, knowing that I have super clean brushes that have been basically put back to factory settings (if you know what I mean) makes applying makeup that little bit more nicer and less....well let's say germ free & super soft.

What I'm trying to say is clean brushes make happy application from brush to face and this can be something which you can jump on the band wagon with too, it's very quick & a simple cheap hand soap (anti bacterial preferably) or a good quality shampoo will do just the trick and give your brushes a new lease of life.

SO take this lil post as a reminder to WASH YOUR BRUSHES hahaha No one likes a grubby brush now do they?

How often do you clean your makeup brushes?

GlossyBox May | Selfie & The City

After receiving my April GlossyBox I was eagerly waiting for my May box to arrive, it finally landed on my doorstep on Monday morning and after seeing it was going to be a limited edition box I was even more excited, to peel back the sticker and see what's inside. This months box is filled with delights one of them being, one of Revlon's new mascaras as they've just released a whole new collection of mascaras for every look you want/would like to achieve, which I'm pretty excited to try out.

GlossyBox have dedicated this special edition box to their favourite urban destinations, one just so happens to be New York (my favourite place EVER, one day I will go there) which is the one that I you will get 1 out of the 4 different designs they have made, each one is different, the New York one is just the cutest I was SUPER happy to open this box to see the design! The other box designs you might receive are either Paris, London or Berlin all of which are homed to their very own GlossyBox if you didn't know already.

Anyway enough rambling for once let's get on to the contents of this months box....

This months box is filled with what I'd call essentials and necessitates, starting from the left we have:

Hairon Zero Crease Hair Ties X3 - I've walked past these before in boots and always been intrigued to see if they actually work or if they are another gimmick on the highstreet. So I was quite surprised to see them in this months box.

NEW Revlon Super Length Mascara - I'm quite excited to try this as I'm always up for trying & looking for a new mascara, this one retails at £9.99 which for a drugstore mascara is a great price, this also promises to do a fair few things & well if the likes of Halle Berry wear it, it's got to be good right?!? Revlon are one of my favourite highstreet makeup brands so I'm looking forward to giving this mascara a whirl.

Absolute New York Velvet Lippie in AVL01 RUMBA - Absolute New York is not a brand I'd heard of previous till receiving my GlossyBox, this is a lippie lip creme, this is the first things I've tired out of this months box and I already love the texture, it's very softening, glides on and very pigmented which is amazing as it just comes under £5.00 (£4.93 to be exact) the packaging reminds me of NYX which I'm really loving their makeup range at the moment. It's creamey and not cakey, it leaves a matte finish & I love a good matte lip. I had to top it up probably once throughout the whole day which is seriously good value for your money, got a feeling they are going to become another makeup brand that I fall in love with. It also smells incrediable which I know doesn't matter when it comes to lippies but it honestly smells like Creme Brulee (one of my fave desserts). I also love the colour it's a gorgeous coraly pink.

Bee Good Youth Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser - This is (for me) the most disappointing item in the whole box......I've tried Bee Good products before and I personally haven't had a good experience with their products in the past, however.....times change and products develop, I'm always on the market looking for a new moisturiser anyway so I will give it a go, and I've heard quite a few things about this particular moisturiser so It'll be interesting to see if it lives up to what it promises.

Hawaiian Tropic Protective Dry Oil SPF 15 - The Hawaiian Tropic Protective Dry Oil, claims its formula is water resistant and is designed not only to keep your skin super soft and moisturised but to also protect your skin from sunburn. As we are currently having glorious weather here in the UK, I've got a feeling this bad boy is going to be used quite a lot. It will also be good to see if it actually is water resistant.

They also included a bag of popcorn which as I type this on a fine sunny day, is slowly being demolished. With the grand total of this box being worth well over £35+ that small £10 (plus P+P) is well worth every single penny.

All in all this months May GlossyBox is very good and it's fun to try out lots of new products, seriously if you haven't subscribed to GlossyBox yet you really need to they are worth the money and you do get your moolahs worth. That and who doesn't love trying new beauty products out?

Are you subscribed to GlossyBox?

Good Old London Town | Lush

If you've been reading my lil blog for quite some time you will know that I'm a HUGE fan of Lush, Lush is one of my favourite highstreet brands as they offer everything from gorgeous Bath Bombs to even Lip Scrubs. So when I was given the opportunity to head to the biggest Lush store in the world I couldn't let it pass..... I can now finally say I've been to Lush Oxford Street.

Last Thursday I headed all the way to Chelmsford then ran for a train that I had 2 minutes to catch, caught the Tube from Liverpool Street and then landed bang smack right in the middle of Oxford Street. I was greeted by the ever so lovely team of Lush Oxford Street and was given a tour, and as always I took my camera with me to show you guys how amazing it actually is.

I did also purchase quite a few things, that I WILL be doing a haul on in a few days time so keep an eye out. In the mean time here are so photos of the most beautiful Lush store I've ever been too. With three levels of Lush filled with special edition products I was very overwhelmed in a good way hahaha.

One of my favourite sections in the store the MAKEUP!!!

I of course didn't only just hit Lush, I also went to various other shops which I will be doing collective hauls on too very very soon. I hope you've enjoyed a little insight into the magical world of Lush Oxford Street I know I definitely did.

Have you been to Lush Oxford Street?

April Favourites

You know you've used a hell of a lot of beauty, skincare and just good products in general when you have a backpack full of product empties, I've been using and loving quite a lot of things this past month, which I thought I would of course share with you all as I know quite a lot of you really enjoy my monthly favourites posts.

Bath & Shower

I've been using quite a lot of Sanctuary products, I'm a HUGE fan of their bath & shower range, they do so many different things and they all smell SO good, I've really been enjoying the Cooling Shower Drench which smells like fresh watermelon, I bought this a while ago to get me in the summer/spring spirit, and as you can see it's now completely gone, I've used this along with my Air Whipped SoufflĂ© Scrub (which is the best) and my 4 Day Moisturising Body Oil, all of them have now been used up so I do need to repurchase these.

I've also really enjoyed Soap & Glorys The Scrub Of Your Life Body Scrub, as you can see this one's been squeezed to the very last drop, It's quite a thick gel like scrub but as you can see it promises quite a few things and has worked a treat on the backs on my arms it's just an all round good body scrub, which I've thoroughly enjoyed using this past month

Skincare is something I love, I love adding new products and using some of my favourites, and this month I've been really enjoying using Kiehls Cream Eye Treatment, as you know I had a reaction to a moisturiser along with an eye cream which I talked about my reaction here, and my eyes haven't felt the same since, they were really dry and always feeling irritated, but having read a few reviews from fellow bloggers I thought I'd make a little purchase and give it a whirl, I've been using this for about a week now and I can't believe the difference it's made, it's honestly incredible and I'm really enjoying using it.

My Clinique Moisturiser is just the best, and I can't imagine my skincare routine without it now it just ticks every box, moisture last all day and has stopped my skin feeling dry, if you haven't tried this moisturiser or you're looking for a new one I'd highly recommend this as it's my dream moisturiser.

Eyes wise I've kept things quite neutral and have been wearing woodwinked just on its own quite a lot as it's one of my favourite eyeshadows and it's just SO pretty. I've also been loving Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara, Now this is honestly my new favourite mascara as it adds volume and makes my eyelashes look longer, It doesn't dry out and lasts all day, again another amazing product from Estee Lauder, I'm really enjoying using their products at the moment.

Blush wise, I've used many but these two are the ones that I've used the most this past month.

If you did or didn't know Estee Lauder have recently bought out some new Blushers and I recently picked up the Pure Colour Envy Shimmering BlushLights in 02 Pink Seduction after swatching it and speaking to the lovely lady who was on the Estee counter, who said this blush is exactly like the limited edition Tease blush which most people wish they had. This blush is honestly beautiful and SO pretty you can use all three or just one at a time and select this little blush I'm SO obsessed with at the moment, If you want to know a little bit more about this particular then you can read my post about it here

Nars Luster Blush is another one that I've really been using it's so pretty for spring & summer and is a build-able blush and I've just been really enjoying using it.

I've been really enjoying Butter London's Nail Varnishes in Minted* & Mum's The Word* Minted is my favourite out of the two as it's a pastel shade and I love my pastel shades and Mum's The Word is quite a neutral shade and is a purpley pink colour, both chip resistant and the colour pay off on these is incredible, I've been really enjoy Butter London nail products.

Mini perfume samples, slightly random but I'm really enjoying using them, I order quite a lot online and for some reason pretty much all beauty online shops give free perfume samples to try out with your order, so I've some how managed to accumulate a mini collection hahaha, They are not only cute but they are easy just to chuck in your handbag and away you go!

And that is everything I loved in April

What have you been loving this past April?
